The story of Limit watches goes back to 1884 when Alfred Hirst established Hirst brothers as a company in Union Street, Oldham. He aimed to produce a wide range of timepieces, jewellery and optical goods. The company grew as it moved into the twentieth century, expending into Manchester and Birmingham. In 1912 the Limit trademark began to appear on Alfred Hirst's range of watches, meaning he had achieved one of his greatest ambitions. The watches carried Swiss movements inside British made cases.It is now over 100 years after the first Limit watches were released, but the brand is still going strong sticking to its principles of elegance, quality and tradition.
